TAD Total Facilities Management was established in 2015 to provide total facilities management services in Sudan and Eastern Africa. TAD currently employs more than 1000 full time employees and manages a diverse range of facilities for national and multi-national customers within healthcare, corporate, banking, telecommunication, NGOs and industrial sectors. TAD’s in-house training center also provides training within the local community, whereby members of the community can improve their skills and be certified by TAD as cleaners, technicians as well as waiters.
“Our company strategy is to be a market leader in FM in Eastern Africa and employing 10,000 people over the next five years,” explained Mohamed Bakhit, CEO of TAD Total Facilities Management.
“Due to our significant and fast-paced growth strategy, we required a high-end CAFM system which provides us with more visibility over our operations, as well as an effective medium to improve the quality of the services we provide through effective and efficient processes.”
TAD’s management team spent approximately 10 months evaluating technical and commercial proposals from diverse CMMS and CAFM System developers to support their portfolio of multiple buildings, which required a user-friendly solution for reporting their different contract SLAs and KPIs.
“We selected FSI’s Concept Evolution mainly for its agility and flexibility, as one of the biggest challenges within our company is our fast growth ratios. We needed a system where we could manage our growth without compromising on our quality. In fact, we researched all the options available in the market over the past year, and we partnered with FSI as our CAFM service provider, as we could see without a doubt that FSI is clearly the leader in the region,” added Bakhit.
FSI implemented and configured the new system in line with TAD’s business processes and provided staff with the required training to operate a fully-integrated system which enabled them to optimise their business operations. Embedding Concept Evolution into their 24/7 helpdesk process has enabled TAD to schedule all their reactive maintenance tasks as per agreed SLAs and KPIs, which has proven to be a huge benefit to both their clients and employees.
“Initially we faced many challenges in persuading people to use the new system, however this has improved significantly especially after the initiation of internal policies, which helped in changing the internal culture of the organisation. We do understand that the initial transition takes a bit of time, however we are proud that we are already about 80% there,” explained Bakhit.
“Overall, our experience of the system and the implementation was very good, and we received all the support we needed from the FSI team. We are very satisfied with the response, customisation and team’s technical know-how.”
TAD is one of the first FM companies in Africa to successfully implement a state-of-the-art CAFM/IWMS system within their operations, and the system enables the company to easily schedule their PPM and routine tasks, and have visibility over the activities within all their contracts across multiple sites. The system also allows our customers to have real time access whereby they could see the work conducted at their facilities, giving TAD a definite competitive edge.
Commenting on the future of their CAFM, Bakhit explains, “We are very pleased with the outcome of Concept Evolution so far, and we would like to expand our usage into handheld, tablet implementation where technicians can use the system easily. We are also in the process of initiating asset tagging by using QR codes, and this will further improve our response time and automation process.”
Adrian Jarvis, Director of FSI Middle East concluded, “For FSI it’s always rewarding to bring new clients on board, but especially so when it allows us to take our solution into a new territory in which the client is pioneering a whole new way of working within their market.”
“We are delighted to have assisted TAD in their vision to use technology as a central tenant of their FM operations and are excited to support them on this journey going forward.”
