The FMA (Facilities Management Association of Australia) has announced this year’s finalists for the annual FMA Awards for Excellence. This year the event (which celebrates it’s 10 year anniversary) will be held to be on December 3 as a series of live events across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth – all connected by digital technology.

FSI is proud to be a finalist together with Serco in the ‘Collaborative Partnership’ category for delivering in partnership an FM solution for a brand new correctional centre.

FSI’s Concept Evolution CAFM/IWMS and FSI GO mobile workforce solutions have been implemented by Serco Australia for the operational facilities management of a brand new correctional centre on more than 90,000 square metres of rural land in the New South Wales state of Australia. The new 1,700-bed facility is the largest correctional centre in Australia and was constructed at a cost of approximately AU$800m.

The complex features state-of-the-art security and surveillance, as well as advanced rehabilitation services. The centre will be delivered as a public private partnership (PPP), with the private sector responsible for the design, construction, maintenance and operation of the facility and ownership to be retained by the NSW government.

For the next 20 years, the prison will inject more than $560m into the local economy with 1,100 jobs created during construction and around 600 permanent jobs once operational.

Serco are existing FSI Global clients, with multiple projects in Australia, the UK and Middle East.
